A native of Harrogate, Tennessee, Chris Parker is dedicated to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics. As the Athletics Director and Assistant Principal at Dyer County High School in Newbern, Tennessee, he is committed to building a strong, competitive, and character-driven athletic program.
Chris earned his Undergraduate Degree in Business Education from Morehead State University, where he was a member of the Eagle Football Team. He later pursued a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Instruction from the University of Tennessee at Martin, equipping him with the skills to lead and inspire both students and athletes.
His career in education and coaching spans over two decades. From 2003 to 2013, he served as an Assistant Football Coach and Business Education Teacher at Dyer County High School. In 2014, he was named Head Football Coach at Halls High School, where he also taught Physical Education. Returning to Dyer County High School in 2018, he took on roles as a STEM Teacher and Assistant Football Coach before stepping into his current leadership position in 2021.
Chris continuously strives for professional growth, attending state and national conferences and achieving Certified Athletic Administrator status in 2024 through the NIAAA. His leadership is centered on upholding the rich history of DCHS athletics while fostering an environment of growth, discipline, and achievement.
Beyond his professional life, Chris is a married to Lindsey and a proud father of two daughters,Larsen and Leighton.
Chris Parker joined the TIAAA Board in 2024 as the co-chair of Social Media, meeting a need to better communicate with TIAAA members across the state and promoting the efforts of the TIAAA nationally.
